DREAMCATCHER - LUCK INSIDE 7 DOORS : PARIS - 25.02.2024

PROMOTIONNAL TEXT

For the remainder of their tour, titled 'World Tour [Luck Inside 7 Doors]', Dreamcatcher plans to make stops in the cities of Barcelona, Warsaw, London, and Offenbach. The members of Dreamcatcher - JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyeo - will take the opportunity to perform live again on tracks from their ninth mini-album, titled 'VillainS'. It is worth mentioning that the girl band had previously unveiled 'Apocalypse: Save Us' (2022), which resulted in several singles, including 'Locked Inside a Door' and 'Maison'.

ZENITH - LA VILLETTE

The Zenith has been the playground for DREAMCATCHER since 2022, and it fills up quite easily. (Note that the Zenith was at reduced capacity, and the pit was not separated for VIPs). The venue boasted a huge screen and a stage with a very large depth. There was no live band, but the sound remained decent even though some saturation could be heard at times. The voices of the 7 members of the group were well distinct, so that was a very good point on that side. In terms of lighting, it was subtle but present, with the light effects synchronized with the images projected on the screen, often synchronized with the music as well. A good point for immersion. Two confetti showers towards the end of the concert topped off the whole concert setup.

1RT PART

For the fourth time in Paris as part of a concert on their tour, and the fifth time if we count the M!Countdown of 2023 in the capital, DREAMCATCHER graces us with their presence. For each of the four world tours, DREAMCATCHER has stopped in Paris. And what an evolution! From the relatively intimate Trianon venue for the 2018 DREAMCATCHER 1ST TOUR 'FLY HIGH' IN EUROPE to the Zenith de la Villette tonight (and in 2022 for the 2022 DREAMCATCHER World Tour – Apocalypse: Save us); the group has nothing more to prove! As evidenced by the fact that the merchandise stands were literally emptied. Not to mention the atmosphere and unwavering support of Insomnia, and babySomnia.

As usual, the concert is followed by a meet and greet and group photo sessions for those who purchased the additional pass.

The concert starts at 7:35 PM with a sublime VCR presenting the group in a fairy-tale world, then the sound of the intro 'This is My Fashion' resonates. The group slowly arrives on stage, dressed in capes in the group's colors (black and gold). Delicately, the 6 members (Sua being seated on a chair due to fatigue) let them fall at their feet, turn around, and prepare for OOTD! OOTD (from VillainS) is the group's latest single. By singing it first, they set the tone, the show will be energetic! Then comes Black and White ([Dystopia: The Tree of Language]). First break, the group introduces themselves one by one, and explains that Sua is a little tired, and will limit her activity on stage. But regardless, she still joins the members and graces the audience with beautiful smiles. They continue the concert with YOU AND I (Nightmare - Escape the ERA). Focused, determined, the 7 members deliver a very nice performance. Next is DAMIAN [Apocalypse: From us]), from the previous album, which plays rock accents that fans love. For Propose ([Apocalypse: From us]), microphones are scattered on the stage before the performance. A blue background dotted with red petals sets the tone. Jiu takes the opportunity to go see Sua. After a good laugh, they're back at it, with Siyeon's impeccable high notes live. Rising (VillainS) follows, with a group that drops the choreography to go greet the audience and make them sing! The storm and its blue lightning on the big screen set the mood. When Dami starts her rap, the audience falls silent, admiring her, and then redoubles their encouragement! A well-deserved break with a beautiful VCR where the members wear simple and pretty white dresses at the same time. We move on to Fairytale ([Apocalypse: Follow us]). The enchanted forest atmosphere and pretty butterflies contrast with what's happening on stage: a bubbling energy from the group: lots of fan service everywhere. The audience wants more! For Diamond (The End of Nightmare), it's high theatrics, and Siyeon twists and turns while Sua, standing, delivers her best singing. Choreography is out again, the group has the audience dancing to the sound of 'hey, hey, hey!!'. Another big piece from the group's discography: 'Wake Up'. Between Jiu's waves, and the surprise 'when are you going to sleep? No! Wake up!' the song ends with another break. 'But above all, French Insomnias, you sang so well during Fairytale'. And yes, the audience actively participates in the atmosphere of this concert. A short break and it's back with The Curse of the Spider (Raid of Dream), a catchy pop/rock track with generous bass, whose 'nightmare' ambiance was complemented by images of a cemetery and a storm.

2ND PART

Ready to scream? Because it's 'Scream' ([Dystopia: The Tree of Language]). The girls, focused on their choreography, give it their all. You can feel the desire to do well despite a reduced setup with Sua on her chair, a bit lonely. Gahyeon wears a mask for a segment, then, the background screen in 'will-o'-the-wisp and explosion' mode, synchronized with the music, explodes everything on the last musical bridge. A real success! New VCR, with a snow effect, then floral. Then we find the 7 members for 'Shatter' from VillainS. A bit of French in this concert with 'déjà-vu' (Raid of Dream). The piano intro contrasts very well with what's to come, namely a sound with a lot of bass! Small MENT (spoken segment): 'So, Insomnias, how was it! You were screaming so loudly at the beginning!' Sua laughs, she can't keep a straight face. 'Many fans already love déja-vu.' Handong: 'Can I see your raised hands? Thank you.' The group asks if fans have been there since the beginning of the group, or if there are 'babysomnia' in the room. 'Regardless of whether it was (being a fan) years ago or yesterday, the most important thing is that we all have fun together.' After a game session between the audience, the 'popopo', and the group, Dami asks us if we're ready for the next song: 'To You' ([Apocalypse: From us]). The calm and emotional segment of the evening quickly followed by 'Lullaby' (Fall Asleep in the Mirror), which made part of the audience cry. 'And every time we come to Paris, you welcome us with this incredible energy.' We go back to the roots with 'MAYDAY' (Nightmare - Escape the ERA), a song from the beginning of DREAMCATCHER's career, which would sound so good with a live band! The girls run from one side of the stage to the other, it's chaos! And that's an understatement, with what's to come: 'Silent Night' (Raid of Dream). For those who have already attended a DREAMCATCHER concert, we know that 'Silent Night' is THE song where the room turns into a giant club. But tonight it was even more so! 'voulez-vous? (Do you want it?)' Jiu shouts in French. Yes, we want it, and they redo the last verse... no less than 8 times! 'If it were up to us, we'd do this all night.' Siyeon wears the famous alien glasses for 'the robot dance', it's madness on stage, but we're used to it. And then it's time for 'BOCA'. A huge 'BOCA' written in red on the screen, girls whose energy multiplies as time goes by, and it's off for 4 powerful minutes of a fiery performance. The highlight of the concert arrives with 'BONVOYAGE', with a shower of sliding confetti swirling in the room. After a memorable performance, the group greets the audience and exits the stage.

FOCUS MENT

Gahyeon: Thank you very much for this energy. After two years, France is still as beautiful and you are still as beautiful. This concert makes me want to see you again very soon. I hope this memory will remain etched in your memory. Thank you.

Sua: Ooooh! Thank you so much! When I saw that there were so many of you tonight, I was disappointed that I couldn't give my best. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I was happy just to see your faces but I hope that next time I'll see you healthy to perform again. I really missed you a lot. Did you have fun tonight? You don't see it, but in my head, it was amazing! Thank you again and enjoy until the end.

Jiu: Thank you for your existence! And thank you for always being by my side. The first time we came to Paris was 7 years ago. And thank you for calling us to Paris so often. I love you.

Siyeon: I am delighted to have been able to share this incredible moment with you tonight. And are you as happy as we are? I am over the moon and full! Insomnias, I am nourished by your love tonight! Thank you very much. I love you.

Handong: Tonight we are in the same place as two years ago. Two years ago we were all together. This concert tonight reminded me of memories. Thank you for being by our side. The bread here is delicious. I will continue to eat well as long as I am here and I will come back in good shape to see you again.

YooHyeon: It's an unforgettable evening with you. I love you. Thank you very much. (Note: all in French)

Dami: It's our fifth time in Paris. Thanks to you and your energy, we never tire of coming here. I have truly incredible memories in Paris, I hope you do too. We will give it our all until the end. And I expect the same from you tonight! Thank you very much.

ENCORE

We find ourselves in the repetition of reports, but of course, it was a false "end" and every good concert has its ENCORE! There was little waiting for the audience, almost plunged into darkness, eagerly awaiting the return of the group. Let's quickly move on to the traditional photo (and now video!) with the audience, to immerse ourselves one last time in DREAMCATCHER's discography with this time: "We Are Young" from their latest album "VillainS". Dressed as tradition dictates, in the tour's sweatshirt or t-shirt, the group warmly greets the Insomnias on both sides of the stage. The last song, as a tribute, "Reason", which was released after the 2022 tour with a beautiful video featuring highlights of all the concerts, this song will be the last and sung in unison with the Insomnia! Last but not least, a shower of white confetti, a beautiful VCR announcing the tour credits, and a final walk around the stage for the girls, the concert comes to an end.

CONCLUSION

DREAMCATCHER is one of those groups with unwavering longevity that now must carefully select its songs to create a bold, balanced, and adapted setlist. Exit "VISION" and "MAISON," which are very recent, and hello to the new/latest album with "OOTD," "Rising," "Shatter," and "We Are Young." 2 hours and 25 minutes of concert, madness, dancing, fan service; the ecstatic audience can only be delighted. No "solo" or "games" segment like in their very first concert in 2018, the focus tonight was on performance. With a balanced setlist and great atmosphere, the concert was a success.
